What I was trying to do with this project, was to transform the car without going over the top. I wanted to stay within the spirit of the deal--which I feel meant keeping some or most of the existing pedal car--like what hot rodders do with real cars. I guess I was in a different position than the other builders because I'm not a builder--I do design work exclusively--I don't have a shop. But I do have access to the best in the business, so it was great to be able to work with some of my friends and do something for charity as well.

I wanted to have an exposed Deuce frame because i think that is what distinguishes the Deuce from everything else--and I definitely wanted the frame horns and spreader bar hanging out in front. The body was cut away at the bottom for the frame, and cut down with a new bead formed around the opening. The grille was peaked, and the windshield layed back and chopped. The cast aluminum wheels and tires give the car a better stance than the skinny tires these come with. It's simple, sitting on a nasty rake, just like a hot rod should be!
